Hi. I've been wanting to build a quad for quite some time now, and I've finally compiled a parts list! I would be very grateful if someone could tell me if these parts are compatible with each other, and if they will work well.

Welcome aboard Gabriel. The parts you listed will work fine together but a better choice motor for your f450 would be;

It won't have to work as hard to lift your quad and will last longer. It can also handle additional payload like FPV and will work fine on a 3s battery.
You can use the same ESC. This combo is ok to start but when you are ready to upgrade here is a logical next step;

You can find them on line for pretty good prices. Big quality improvement. For example, you can go 60-70 hours before having to service the bearings as opposed to 20-30 hours on the Multistar.
So, why not get an inexpensive controller like a KK2.15 or CC3d to get your quad flight worthy and all trimmed out. Then you can build your FCB knowing the quad is set up right instead of trying to guess if it's a faulty circuit or program in the FCB or a problem with the quad. Just sayin'......;)

I just have a few questions about the multistar motors that you recommended.
I will take your advice and buy a cheap FCB before building my own.

Sorry if my questions are kind of stupid. I'm new to this and I want to be absolutely sure before I spend my money! :)

The 20a is fine. Always go over whenever you get a cheap ESC. That is just the max amps it can handle, and it will run cooler and be less likely to have a problem. Same with the motor. The 28mm is the can diameter. The mounting holes are spaced the same. The F450 arms have multiple slots and holes to handle any possible mounting configuration. They will fit perfectly and also not have to work as hard as the 2212's.
On your FCB the CC3d might be more to your liking because it is open source and you sound like a small circuit guy. There are so many ways to modify, add on and generally upgrade it that you might just keep it as your base!
