Thanks guys. Tried uploading a pic but wouldn't let me, says file is too large seeming as I am using an iPhone
As for fpv, I've been looking at so many different videos and write ups that I really don't know what to do. Problem being I'm on quite a small budget and there aren't that many hobby shops in the UK that do fpv. Or at least I don't think there are.
The basic entry price for FPV is $99. I have tried to go cheaper by building it from scratch, and to have any usable range it is not worth the trouble. If you want some fatsharks you can get a full set for $200
The cheapest I've seen for fat shark in the UK is £199.99. But the camera is so small and it comes with the transmitter built in on the back of the camera, which I didn't want. I've been told that the go pro camera will do both live fpv and recording at the same time, is this true?
It will, but with any camera like: Gopro, Runcam, Mobius, and any camera that records, they have bad latency. You need a board camera like a sony or the one you probably saw with the fatshark set. You then get an action camera for recording the video.
Ah right got ya, but at the same time, how would I get osd with the fatahark of the video transmitter is built into the camera? Sorry if these sound like stupid questions. I'm just really new to all of this and it all just fascinates me. I watched my first YouTube video of fpv racing about 4 weeks ago and now I have built my first quad, with a 2nd frame awaiting delivery ha ha
Ha ha, yeah, erm. I really don't know. I spend ALL my spare time trawling through the Internet, watching videos, reading threads on here and just have no idea. The main things I would like is altitude, distance from myself ( or transmitter ), speed and battery levels I guess. Is all that possible?
My dad bought the fatshark v4's. He uses them on his Curtis Youngblood stingray quad copter. Although I have now got him into the 250 racer scene. He's been flying helicopters for nearly 20 years now lol
Ha ha I don't know. He always says it's scary when he flies it as the cost of repair is too much. Although the biggest problem he has is sourcing the replacement parts. Not very easy to do in the UK.
