Eachine Racer 250 Controller Board Upgrade?

I have a Eachine Racer 250 and I noticed that my Mini USB port is missing off of the controller card. I don't know how, but I guess it got knocked off in a crash.

So, it came with the CC3D controller card. If I have to replace the controller card should I put back the same one or is there a upgrade I should make at this time?

What about adding GPS? Is it hard or require a different board?

Any thoughts or experience on this?

Thanks

Generally you would not want to add a GPS to a 250 just simply due to their shorter flight times, the added weight would not really give you any useful features, and makes crashes more expensive.

For a 250 the CC3D is a pretty good choice, and with luck you should be able to get the tuning back by either using the settings from someone who has an Eachine 250, or from their site. If you get another board you get to deal with tuning and all of the time required to do, learn, and redo it.

A lot of people are moving the battery on top and the vtx to the back because the battery smashes into both the fcb and the vtx during crashes.

Thanks for the advice on moving the battery and vtx. I think it's the battery that broke my usb port.

So you don't think that having gps would make it fly more stable and control it where you can fly slower and hover easier while you are learning?

No, they don't actually fly that smoothly in GPS mode. A lot of guys only use it for RTH or when they're in trouble. Just stick to Attitude mode until you're confident with your skills
