Drone destroyed by salt water... guide to bind AT9 with new drone?

Ok, long story short, I accidentally hit the lock switch while flying at a beach, and the drone fell out of the sky and landed in the tidal zone. A wave came in and destroyed the electronics of my Arris FPV250b.

I am now ordering an Arris XSpeed 250 (same components just a different frame and rear LED's) BNF, and an RD9 receiver.

I can figure out how to bind the receiver to the AT9, and it's the same wiring to the F3 flight controller, but will I need to reconfigure in Cleanflight or Openpilot? I'm very new at this stuff.

I know it was stupid flying by the water but it stinks how one wrong button ruined everything!

Thank you

You'll to do at least a quick setup, Most of the new wave of F3 FCs come flashed with Cleanflight 1.3 right now. But you can bump it up to Betaflight 3.0 right away. Nobody uses Openpilot anymore, isn't updated or supported.

Ok thanks. As far as binding, can I just wire it into the quad to power it then bind to the transmitter? I see a lot of videos with people using servos and plugging the battery in directly. Not sure how this process goes.

That receiver should bind without any problems. The servo you see people use is just a test to see if it did indeed bind. You shouldnt have any problems. Oh yeah... dont practice over water....;)
