After three months and 10 days of hard abuse, the ESC board on my BabyhawkR brain gave out. Not a bad run considering it was my first brushed and I put it through the ringer.
I ordered the Diatone Mamba Power Tower and poured into getting it ready to go. I was only planning to tin the pads and decide how things are to go together....four hours later I had the quad up and running as far as it was able without any smoke and fire, which isn't bad for my second build.
So far I am impressed with the Mamba from the build standpoint.
I bought the HGLRC XJB F438 and DYS Mini stack and what I disliked was how small the pads are and how close they are to the circuitry giving this novice a bit of a complex trying to keep the solder away from them and had the HGLRC board explode on me. The DYS was a bit better, being a bit further away and having a border line to help give a visual clue.
The ESC board on the Mamba leaves no chance for error, all the circuits are neatly packed in the center of the board and the pads are large and easy to tin.
The FC was a bit more tricky. I will agree withe others that they could have spread out the pads as they are REALLY small. I was able to tin them pretty easily and getting everything connected wasn't near as hard as I thought, but still is intimidating. The included pin out diagram was very helpful, even when having to count the number of pads to where I want to solder the wire.
I still need a receiver before I cam get the kwad back in the air to test out the rest.
