Nobody was hurt and the bird didn’t get a scratch. I feel foolish but I didn’t see any warnings about (VRS) in the user’s manual I read. But, like you said, live and learn.

I know. I can't belive the amount of new things we have to learn at the cost of a crash. I can't tell you how many times in my past I have said something like, Oh Crap, Oh No, Not My, Clablammo! That stinks I wonder how much that mistake is going to cost.

Why of coarse. LOL Do you know not to fly in GPS mode when there is a forecast of any solar storms in your area? That is a good one. You will be flying in GPS mode and suddenly the quad goes off on its own. You can stop the fly away by simply switching to attitude mode or to manual. That is a good one. I see so many videos of people claiming fly offs. Many of them could have saved their air unit if they knew about this one. I saved mine once because of it. There many others. Maybe I will post them from time to time.

Seems I need to change to “Naza-M mode,” but I’m new and this seems overwhelming right now. I guess I’ll watch out for solar flare predictions online prior to flying. Thanks for the tip!
Another question: How does the Phantom react when GPS is lost while flying in “Phantom mode?” I’m thinking I’ll lose all stick control, is that correct?

no, you shouldn't lose stick control. If you do try switching down to attitude. If that works, great. I have had mine lose GPS signal but always was able to fly without issue. You must train yourself to fly without GPS so your comfortable if the GPS fails.

Still confused, Can attitude mode be enabled in “Phantom mode?” via the S1 switch. I thought it’s only enabled in “Naza-M mode.”

The two modes you speak of are not in my manuals. I have these modes: Attitude, GPS Lock, and Manual mode are on one switch and then on another switch I have Course Lock, Home Lock and Smart Orientation Off. I don't have Phantom and Naza M, Sorry
