Hi all, I've just build a whoop. When it comes to charging 6 300mah 1s lipo do it just put them in the parallel charger board, on the charge setting or do I have to use balance charge on the 6s setting
Hi no single cell can't be balanced so just charge as single cell you can up the amp rate a little if you wish , but what I would do is charge all 6 on the parallel board then when it says they are charged take each one and recharge on its own then you know it has a full charge
Keep in mind that any batteries simply connected in parallel (charger off) will naturally self equalize.
Let's say one battery reads 4.1V and the other is 3.9V, if you checked them a minute later both would now be at 4V. That said it's not recommended to parallel batteries with a wide difference in voltage, let's a 3.2V and 4.1V as there will be a large and quick flow of current from the high to the low one as they equalize possibly causing an issue.
I parallel charge 4 Li-ions at a time for various devices. I wait a minute before turning on the charger to let them equalize.
I use one of these and it works great. It charges each battery individually, and this particular one lets you select the voltage separately for each battery. I have some of the high-voltage (4.35V) batteries as well as normal 4.2V. You need a power supply if you don't have one already.
When you get it, check the switches for both the amperage and the voltage. You can select each individually, for each battery. I think the default amperage is .6A so be careful of your charge rate on these little batteries.
I had one of these burn out on me, and that seems to be the biggest complaint according to reviews. I just bought another one since they're so cheap and I had been using it for over a year. They do work great.
