Here we go again. I got a Discovery HD U818-1-P in December. It was flying very well when weather permitted. After a while the bird got to the point where it just couldn't climb. I'd just seem to ride on the ground bubble. I knew I had really worn the 2 batteries that came with it (500mah), so I ordered some new ones. I've tried 2 of the new batteries, and I'm experiencing the same problem. Everything seems to be functioning as designed, yet the bird will not rise more than a few inches, even with the brand new batteries. Voltage check on the batts says they're in good shape. Removed all 4 props to check for any foreign material possibly wound around the shafts, they are clean and free running. The Tx has 2 modes, one for high performance control and one mode for beginners. Switching modes has no effect on the altitude problem. I've been searching forums to see if anyone else has experienced this problem, without any luck. I haven't seen any reference to a similar problem with ANY other quads. At a bit of a loss here. Any ideas?

An update on this. I had checked the voltage on the 2 new batteries after attempting to fly with them. They hadn't drained very much, so I floated the thing above the floor for a couple of minutes on each battery, let them cool, then put them on the charger. In about 60 minutes, they had charged. Decided to try again (after cooling again), and whoops, the bird almost slammed into the ceiling. Hoping I might be on to something, I tried the 2nd batt. and actually flew around in the house for a few minutes. It seems that the new batteries just needed a little cycling to get in gear and start working properly. Who knew? Filing this away for future reference.

Just a quick update on this thread. The Turnigy TB6B charger made all the difference, even restored the batts I thought I had toasted. The little Discovery flies as well as it ever did, even better since I found out that the plastic blade guard will easily snap off of the frame arms. After leaving that 32 grams of plastic on the kitchen table, the 82 gram quad took off like one of those Estes rockets.

nice :D im in the same boat, i flew yesterday but hten went to recharge by battery and it wouldnt recharge and then it said it was charged, and when i went to fly it wouldnt even take off when i gave it full throttle, it would do a sad little hop.......then i put it back in and it showed 2/3 cells charged - its so random :S i hate these crappy cheap chargers, but my b6 comes tomorrow and hoping it works good!
