camera not recording

I just bought an altair 818 hornet the camera works using the UDIR/C interface controller, I don't want to use the controller to fly with just for video. Is there a way of using my controller and still have video. If the interface controller is active my controller does not work. Also the camera is equipped with sd card, the light on front of camera is on but it does not record anything on the sd card.
 
I wanted to do the same thing when I first started but couldn't find a work around to use the camera separately on another quad.
Alot of the models like that, it's all tied into the fcb. Unless you speak Chinese chances are slim finding anything on the web. In the end I just bought an SQ11 & a 64gb sd card & just recorded the whole flight & just pulled a frame out for a picture if I wanted it.
 
I had one that wouldnt record while hitting the record button on the controller but there was a button on the monitor that started it recording. It showed such on the display once started.
 
OK I have found the solution to my question. If I connect using the UDIR/C do not start the interface controller, then start my CONTROLLER, it will control the flying as normal. Touch the Interface video button to turn on and off video in flight.
