Brand new member with a question.

Hello everyone, I'm brand new to the UAV world! I bought a cheap micro-quadcopter to learn to fly, and I just got my first real drone in the mail yesterday from Amazon. I bought the MJX Bugs 2W, and only had time to do a couple of takeoffs and landings last night, but I already love it. My question has to do with registering it with the FAA, which I know I have to do. It requires the serial number, but I don't see one on the aircraft itself, and on the box I found two different numbers with barcodes. One of them is a 10-digit alpha numeric that starts with an "X", the other is a 13-digit that starts with M0B2W. Does anyone know which one would be the actual serial number? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to interacting with this forum a lot, I have so much to learn!

Hi I think the FAA gives you a number you have to put on the quad i am not in the USA so not sure one of the guys will soon let you know

Thanks for your reply, and yes, the FAA does give you a number that has to be visible on the UAV, but I'm talking about the manufacturer serial # that I need to register it with the FAA. There are two numbers on the box, I don't know which one is the serial #.

Hi I had a little read up on it and it does ask but I not know were it will be on it , sorry can't help much one of the guys will know and your get an answer soon glad we have not got it over here yet

Yeah, I don't mind registering at all, and it only costs $5, I just don't know why they put two stickers with different numbers on the box, and neither of them specify that it is the serial number. I guess I could just pick one, but I don't want to register it with an incorrect number. I emailed MJX about it, but they are in China, so I have no idea what time of day it is there, lol.

What are the first 4 letters of the one in the rectangle on the bottom of the box . That's MJX's BC, use the complete BC.

The application seems to have changed, when I signed up originally they had a DIY classification.

The first 4 letters are M0B2, I will use that to register.
