FWIW it's best to NOT store a fully charged battery.

OK - didn't know that. I didn't mean "store" in the literal sense. I charged the battery up last night, intending to try a first flight today. Now, it looks like I am going to have to wait a week. I have the battery in the quad. Is it OK to let it sit there a week or would I be better off taking it out? That's all.

What type of charger have you got. Really you should have a digital balance charger with a setting that will discharge it safely down to storage which is 3.80v per cell.
I would not leave that battery for a week fully charged. There is a 97% chance it won't explode but it will seriously reduce the effectiveness of its peak output.
Especially if it's a new battery.
Just go hover it for 5min that should be OK better than leaving it.

It will almost certainly puff up a bit anyway. That ain't good.
I got some old turnigy 3s that have better output than a puffed 4s. If you have not got or do not intend on buying many batteries then look after them. I buy one every other week. I came across a UK eBayer who was selling turnigy graphene 1.3 for £13 All other sellers are £27+ so I bought 8. Nearly 40 batteries now. I can go out all day flying. It's a pain if it rains & I have to discharge all them paks. Rough with the smooth though.

OK - I'm going to go out and give it a (first) try today anyway. Totally not sure of how to do it, but I guess the only way to learn is to try. Film at eleven ....
I'm back. First flight successful! I have a lot to learn about controlling the quad once it's airborne, but all in all, I am very satisfied. Now, back to batteries. I come home with three red lights out of four - the battery still has plenty of charge. I won't be flying again until next weekend. I have left it turned on, in the quad and intend to just let it run down in that fashion. Is that OK to do? Or, can I pull it from the quad, and it will run down on its own?
