Anyone Have Experience With Spektrum AR8010T Receiver?

I bought an AR8010T receiver for my Tarot 650 Sport q1uadcopter because I needed 7 channels - 4 for flight controls, 1 for selecting flight modes, 1 for camera gimbal tilt controls and 1 for landing gear control (retractable landing gear). The problem I've had with it is I can't seem to get it to work - its as if it is not being powered up.

With other receivers, I've relied on power from one of the servo connectors to supply power to the receiver. But this has a port labeled "FLT PK VOLT"; I'm wondering if it will only accept power from this port... Has anyone used this receiver? If so, how do you supply power to it?

Not sure about this particular model, but most Spektrum receivers take 3.5 v instead of 5 v. The "T" in 8010T Is telemetry and the FLT PK VOLT is just the telemetry port for battery voltage. The receiver is actually powered throught the Throttle channel as this is a PWM only receiver. Image is a different receiver but same idea

The AR8010 has a batt port of you look at the pins on the receiver it's the bottom row first set from left to right

Thanks all! I will try out using the throttle as well as the power ports to see which gives me good results.

I just tried it out - using an ESC with a BEC, I plugged the command line to the throttle port but no joy. No perceived power to the receiver. I then plugged the ESC command line to the Power port and success! I was able to successfully bind to my transmitter, and when I toggled the gear switch, the landing gear retracted. So, I will install this receiver on my Tarot.

Okay guys, it is fixed and working! And the receiver is getting power from the throttle servo connection. But it was a hassle getting things connected as there were no markings on the receiver as to how to plug in the servo connections. The manual gave no clue and I could not find any help online, so I simply tried it both ways. But its working now!

Hi glad it's sorted on all spektrum receivers there is a label that shows you the pin set up , the golden rule is live is always middle pin of the 3 as long as you dont power on any other pins you ok to have the plug upside down signal and earth won't do damage to the receiver if they are on the wrong pins
Also lots of the bigger spec receivers like the one you have are best run off a stand alone BEC or off a 5 volt out off the PDB

There was no label on mine - perhaps it was left off or I got an early one? Anyway, an image on Google gave me a clue - though the wire colors weren't the same, I guess that ground was on top and the signal lead was on the bottom, which turned out to be the case.

Yes that's right like I said as long as live is on the middle pin you cant damage the receiver it just won't work if signal wire is on the wrong pin this is why live is middle wire
