So I'm flying my Turbo Ace X-830 (without FPV) and it got too far away and I got all twisted up and couldn't tell if it was going away or coming towards me. Then I started stressing out and just kept making it worse and worse. After about a half mile I said screw it and just cut the throttle so it would land. It landed in a Law Offices parking lot and lucky for me it didn't hit a Lawyers car (or anything else) lol. I frantically searched and asked everyone I saw if they had seen it go down. I thought it landed in a small lake but it went much further and a guy working on a dock saw it go down and he pointed the way. A groundskeeper found it and brought it to me. I was worried I would never see my go pro again, as for the quad I only suffered 2 bent arms and bent landing gear. I can't believe it never even occurred to me to go to fail safe mode. It was amazing how fast I got nutted up and couldn't figure out which way I was going. By the time it was a half mile away it was hopeless. Pretty bad flying all around on my part but this is how we learn. Lucky to have gotten it back.
