After working on my quadcopter project for over the last year, I have lost interest and want to find it a new home. I am an engineer and wanted to build my own quadcopter system. It is a lot more fun than just buying something out of the box. I have tried to fly it a couple times but after getting up about 5 feet off the ground I got nervous and brought it back down.
This is the perfect project for a hobbyist that wants to get into quadcopters and build one themselves. All the components have been purchased from 3dRobotics or from Hobbyking. This is a really great setup but needs some tender loving to clean up the wiring and get it flying again. It hasnt moved in a couple months due to other interests (starting doing triathlons and getting back into RC cars).
The setup includes a FPV camera, a brushless gimbal for a gopro, wireless video transmission from quadcopter to ground display, wireless telemetry downlink to mission planner software or to be displayed on ground video display and the APM Ardupilot 2.6 Flight Computer.
Here is everything that it comes with:
Quadcopter Equipment:
- 3DRobotics DIY Quad Kit
- 3DRobotics APM 2.6 w/ Power Adaptor & 3DR uBlox GPS with Compass Kit
- 3DRobotics OSD
- 3DRobotics Radio V2 (Air and Ground)
- 4x turnigy 28-36 1000kv motors
- 4x afro esc (simonk firmware installed, best setup for quads)
- LED lights on quadcopter arms that light up when no connection between transmitter and quadcopter
- M200 Care-Free Crab Landing gear for Multi-Rotor (black)
- Hobby King Quadcopter Power Distribution Board
- Mobius ActionCam 1080p HD Video Camera Set With Live Video Out
- Turnigy Receiver Controlled Switch - used for LED control
- ACK GoPro And Action Cam Brushless Gimbal With Controller And Motors (AXN) (perfect for GoPro)
- Turnigy FPV 3-channel video switcher
- Plug and Play 5.8 GHz 200mW Wireless System Transmitter and Receiver (not installed)
- Zippy 5000mAh 3S Lipo Pack (main power for quadcopter
- Zippy 1800mAh 3S Lipo Pack (power for wireless video transmitter
Ground Equipment:
- Fly Sky TH-9X radio w/backlit screen installed
- Fieldview 888 - 8 inch 800 x 480 TFT LCD HD FPV Monitor with Backlight -
- Universal Carbon FPV Monitor To Transmitter Mount System
- Turnigy 5000mAh 3S 25C Lipo Pack for Transmitter and ground video receiver
Other Parts:
3dRobotics APM 2.5+ and Case w/ Media Tek MT3329 GPS Antenna V2.0 - there is bad interface for the altimeter so you cannot use it for flight but it is still good for a ArduRover project.
APM 2.6 Clone - Bought this thinking that it would be cheaper than 3dRobotics version but could never get it to work properly so just purchased the real 3dRobotics APM 2.6 that is installed in quadcopter currently.
4 turnigy dlux 30a esc with programming card
1 kk2.0 flight controller
Spare 10" and 12" blades
1 orange rx dsm rx long range version
FPV582 Plug and Play 5.8 GHz 200mW Wireless System (Spare)
I cant upload pictures at the moment since I am away from home for the next couple days but if anyone is interested, please email me at "chi.patel@gmail.com" and I can get you pictures as soon as possible and answer all your questions.
I am asking $650.00 OBO shipped CONUS for everything listed above.
This was a fun project and I learned alot but just dont have time to enjoy it anymore. Definitely had a lot more fun building this than just buying a RTF model.
Thanks!
