Battery C rate, and what it means

I have noticed that there is a lot of confusion as what the C rate of a battery actually is. So I decided to do this quick post. C rate is the discharge rate of the battery, or how much current it can supply. How do I get the Amp supply from the C rate? For this example we'll use this...

First build, am I doing it right?

If you have a local hardware store they may have them. I was surprised that mine had some #2-56 machine screws for the prop adapter on my motor.

    That is a good method.

Yeah, they are a lot stronger than plastic. You may need to balance them.

    Need advice and some info

Walkera Scout X4 has had a lot of good feed back, What simulator are you using? Simulators can give you the basic feel for controls, but IRL you will have wind, and things will happen fast, and you will need to react quickly. I know I did not answer all of your questions, but it being a...

    Prop size Question

Here is a little chart I found, looks really good example. (Scroll down for the chart) Also take a looks at these 650Kv motors on HK. Notice that the Kv is the same but the number before it is much larger than the SunnySky motors. THis bigger number is the torque of the motor. This means...

    Prop size Question

You could put a 12x6 on it, but I don't think I'd go higher with SunnySky motors. you should probably stick to 12x4.7 or 4.5 props though.

so you want a quadcopter or multirotor

Check the weight distribution, and maybe recalibrate the gyro on flat surface.

First build - 3D printed frame

Also I am fairly sure that that battery can't support the amp draw. I would get a much higher C battery. I can't tell the difference between a quad and hovership. They seem to be the same thing.

First build - 3D printed frame

One problem is that you need at least a 70 amp ESC, these motors have a lot of torque, and with that comes higher amp draw. The 30 amp ESCs just can't handle the load. 70 amp wil lprobably be fine, 73+ would be recommended here are more. Try to avoid getting opto ESCs, as you need to get a...

Lipo Batteries: Sources and Charging Methods

Mostly correct, scientificlly agreed storage voltage is usually 3.8 per series (or cells if you must), but almost all manufactures say to store at 3.7, which is the voltage they put on the pack. A 3S LiPo will say 11.1v on the pack, when in reality at full charge it is ~12v. When possible you...

    weird crash

for anyone flashing, always try to flash offline if you can. If something happens to your network connection during the process you are going to either getting a new device, or doing some soldering. Because interrupting the process will brick the chip you are flashing.
