    First time Quadcopter, limited resources!

Haha, ok. To get a stabilized flight is actually REALLY hard, there are a lot of adjustments to do, this is another reason having a ArduPilot is good, as you can run the stock firmware to test your hardware so that you are not compensating for hardware problems.

    First time Quadcopter, limited resources!

I'd try to stay away from anything without a fail safe, as it becomes a matter of when you loose your quad and not if.

Long Life, Good Outdoors, No camera. Which model?

Ok, haha. This would be more of a gym flier for someone interested in learning before going to an expensive one. From the videos I had seen it did pretty good in the wind, but I have never flown it. I hear a lot of good about the Husban line.

Should not be anything you have to plug in then. I suggest you solder and heatshrink stuff instead of alligator clips though.

Hmmm, the US uses 120v 60 HZ and most of Europe they use 220v 50 HZ. If you get a battery charger with a EU plug, you should be able to use a plug from something you have, just cut a cord off from something you are throwing away and put it on the charger. The charger converts the voltage...

How many volts come from your wall socket, and if you know the hertz that would be great.

    Best budget motors?

I would try to stay away from sunny sky, they have gotten less quality nw that they have became failry popular, though in this hobby motors usually don't wear out as quick as they get broken. The key is often how easily repaired they are.

Ok, haha. Turnigy Really cheap if you get the 9x, and good quality, if you get the Turnigy pro version for a good bit more you can do a LRS Spektruim (Great quality; Dx6i, Dx6, or Dx7) Orange (great quality, maybe the cheapest on this list, and receivers work with most Spektruim products)...

The Open Pilot should be fine, the ArduPilot is more upgradable if you want to later.

This should save you tons of money vs the Pixihawk, I'd suggest you use that to get a nice transmitter.

If you are fine with not having a GPS Open Pilot is fine. Any of these on listed here can be programmed, though the KK is in assembly.

If you get two small batteries it is better than one big battery, as you can swap them out and have the weight benefit.

Arduino will be your best bet, Ardupilot will be a cheaper method as it comes with all needed hardware. @Nick is programming a flight controller right now, he has finally gotten is halfway stable, but there is a lot of work still. You may want to message him to get some ideas. He bought an...
