    Gear for Syma X5C

Drop checked my Syma off a tree into the ditch last night (ouch). left it to dry last night, all seems to work except...the little white gear that turns the prop is gone, thus one motor won't turn prop. looking at the diagram in the owners manual, looks like the gear is attached to the shaft...

    Drifting in the slightest wind

I have a cheap Syma so I don't know all the tech details of what your unit can do. I do know that it doesn't take much wind to move mine around. as I understand it the 'leveling' gyro stuff helps keep it level (flat) but not necessarily in one place (hover).

    Syma X5C - Why Won't It Hover?

    Transmitter compatibility?

for indoor use I'd definitely go with a little helo unit, I see they start at under $20. http://www.amazon.com/Syma-S107-S107G-Helicopter-Colors/dp/8499000606/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1439395224&sr=8-3&keywords=rc+helicopter (I am not affiliated with Amazon, Syma, etc.)

    first time flyer

personally I'd keep away from water (and electric wires. and neighbors with Dobermans.) my unit (Syma X5C) has a down-pointing camera and I have to take that into account. great for showing off the house. to get a horizon shot over the trees I find I can pitch back just as I take the pic...
