  1. Gyro Doctor

    Meteor 5" build

Yes, It's got less processor, with more noise too, and one amp less BEC power, but at about half the price it's still a good buy ;)

Those motors pull 33 Amps so you'll need a higher rated ESC. You should always rate the ESC higher than the expected pull of the motors so they (the ESCs) don't run hot and also as a safety margin. In this case you need 35 Amps ones or better yet 40 Amps.

    Funny how the wind speed...

Works the same with "real" aircraft too. Fuel burn rates vary with the prevailing winds. ;)

    A.K.A. a "Dog End" :p Although that's more a butt than a fag ... butt?, fag? .... slippery slope here ...

If it's not a 4-in-1 stack you can also go with 330uF at each ESC instead of 1000 on the bat input. A 16V should be fine with a 4 cell pack because most caps are under rated for their voltage tolerances anyway.

DroneShield is keeping hostile UAVs away from NASCAR events - TechCrunch

Exactly true.... Back in 1972, when I decided that electronics would be my choice of career, I had no idea that it would eventually get to the point where stuff would just be thrown away and replaced instead of being repaired. I had thought that as technology improved and things became more...

 ... ( A bit of thread jumping here) ... Hey Moz, did you get that capacitor question sorted on the small frame that a 1000 mfd low ESR cap was too big for ? ... I saw the thread, but couldn't reply at the time and now have lost where it was! o_O

DroneShield is keeping hostile UAVs away from NASCAR events - TechCrunch

Just nuked stuff at a distance :D LMAO ... Yeah, Quads didn't exist yet, I was flying RC airplanes and Helicopters back then. There weren't even any decent gyros at the time that weren't large and expensive. You don't know what fun is until you've tried keeping a Heli stable without any gyros...

DroneShield is keeping hostile UAVs away from NASCAR events - TechCrunch

 ... That's a hefty price for a gun a lot like the one I built as a kid almost 40 years ago ! Damn, I should've marketed the device and could've been rich by now .... oh yeah, there weren't drones back then :p
  11. Gyro Doctor

    Just amazing

Yep, another good example ..... though I've not needed the colors of a rainbow since Hmmm ....I can't remember when ... lol ... :p
  12. Gyro Doctor

    Just amazing

Memory is a strange thing ... I can generate codes on a server device to pair client communication nodes and forget the stupid codes by the time I'm finishing up the settings on the third client. However I can vividly recall scenes from a movie (my first) I watched with my Mom at a theater when...

Bad motor? Can you identify the problem? (Photo)

... That exact same thing happens to 600V 100HP industrial motors too. :D

Bad motor? Can you identify the problem? (Photo)

 ... That's what is generally called one fried motor ... lol ... technically, it lost a phase. Quad motors are three phased outrunners. Each phase has coils at 180 degrees opposite each other which, when energised, make the north and south poles of an electromagnet. The carnage you see is...

Try adding that capacitor and see if that fixes it. https://www.racedayquads.com/products/panasonic-1000uf-35v-low-esr-capacitor-for-noise-reduction

Oh, ok then ... lol ... confused me when you said ALL because I'd just mentioned that a post or two prior :p

    Navio 2 magnetic field

Probably noise on the power lines then. Does your PDB have filtering ? In any case I'd slap a low ESR cap in there, say 1000 mf on the power lines to the GPS/Mag or FC and see if that solves it ;)

    Crashed quad now having problems???

Along with checking the motors to see if any get hot you should also do the same for the ESCs. It's possible that an ESC got damaged in the crash (which may or may not even make it get hot, but it's still worth checking). Any exposed wires should be covered with some heat shrink tubing (or...
