XS809W vs 8807w... Which one is better?

I am planning to buy a new drone & i have a budget of around 50$
For me, first priority goes to camera.. I want to buy the one with better stable camera... Both of them come with a 2MP 720p camera.. So, can't just differenciate from that..
Secondly, i prefer better flight time with a better range...

So which one of these drones should i buy??
Or should i buy any other drone?

Please help me out.. :)

Get the Visuo XS809W, it has been on the market for longer and spare parts like the gear cogs, receiver board, transmitter parts etc are widely available and easy to find.

The 8807W hasn't been around very long.

There are no spare parts available for the 8807W. I found this out when i bought the 8807W which broke after only a few flights. The plastic gear cogs melted and failed. The drive parts of Visuo XS809W are not the same as the 8807W. Only exception is the motors.

There is unlikely to be any huge differences in the camera's between both models. It's possible they use the same camera module.


By the way if you are not aware the XS809W is the version without altitude hold.

The XS809HW has altitude hold. But is more expensive.

The Visuo is one of the best under $50, the camera is about as good as you will get at that price. Choose the 2MP version for the best camera.

Sorry.. I was actually thinking of buying the XS809HW.. but I wrote XS809W by mistake...

Do you have the XS809HW? If you do, is there any way to stop the camera from shaking? As i saw in the videos, the camera tends to shake as it is tiltable...

& btw, thank you for your help.. :)

I do not own the XS809HW. The camera shaking is also because it is attached to the made body so it effected by the vibrations from the propellers. And the frame rate of the camera isn't very good. I have seen this mod to minimise the vibrations but i havn't tried it myself yet.


An other option is removing the camera module from the quad then and making somekind of lightweight gimbal. Like this credit card gimbal.


How effective this would be i dont know. But might be worth a try. You would also need to add some landing legs for clearance. And maybe need to extend the power wire to the module.

I agree the Visuo XS809HW is the better purchase. Gearbest have the 2mp camera for the same price as .03mp so grab it! Keep in mind that camera's on drones in this price range are not great! However this drone is a great flyer and should be purchased for that alone! lots of mods on the net for great Range extention also. You will want to mod the battery so you can use standard lipo battery at 1/3 of cost of proprietary battery pack.

Jello mod upove helps control things much better, but again if you are concerned about video quality only step up in price in quads. You can also purchase a better cam down the road. This drone can handle some nice cams, check upgrades that people have done.

This is an impressive drone for the money and as people have attested too one of the best folding drones for the money! You all be crazy not to have it in your collection. :)

Sorry don't expect much of anything for $50, be it camera or drone. You will get a few hours out of it, if you are lucky.

Probably got the best one in a thousand & touched lucky. But I will take that back.
I didn't even get 2hrs out of 2 toys.

I can name a half dozen people who are still flying $50 "toy" quads 1-3 years later. Most have replaced a motor or two is all.

Wow this coming from a guy that states he goes through 3 packs of motors a week! You are completley off base with your advice to the poster which is totally false information and helps no one on the forum! The fact is the sales of these drones is impressive and for good reason. They work great and are FUN to fly! Just like you "burning up 3 packs of motors a week" all motors have a lifespan if you abuse them or stress them they will heat up and burn up no matter what motor. So let this poster have fun and if he burns up 3 packs as a week to have fun, I say good on him and you will both have stories to share on burning up motors:)

To Junaid, i say buy it and fly it and have fun with it! There are great videos of this drone on you tube so do not take just my advice have a look! This is a great drone and you will not be disapointed. The syma x5c-1 is the same price has smaller motors and is one of the most popular drones and people do not talk about motors only lasting a few hours but if stressed yes they will! You can always upgrade later to the micro motors later which cost more and last "almost" twice as long and are more powerfull:)
