The weather has been stellar, and many pilots have been able to make use of the extended fall to get some stick-time in... meanwhile the FPV Racing Events Team has been working diligently to launch an incredible series spanning January - May 2016.





We have exciting developments, and wanted to let you know that REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the Season Opener!

Individual Race Format:



  • Day #1 - Minimum of 2 Practice Rounds & 1 Qualifying Round
  • Day #2 - Minimum of 2 Qualifying Rounds & Championship Races (everyone gets a Final Race!)
  • Rocket-Round Qualifying: Each Racer is seeded based on their Best Qualifier of the 3
  • Practice: 3 minutes on the Clock, Unlimited Laps, Fastest Lap Seeds Qualifier #1 & #2 when available
  • Qualifying: 3 minutes on the Clock, scoring the fastest Five consecutive laps
  • Championship Mains: 5 Lap Races. Lower Seeds (i.e. D-Main) fly first. The Top Racer in that Race advances a grouping higher (i.e. the C-Main)





Race Fees:



  • $40 - First Class, $30 - Second Class, $20 - Third Class, $10 - Fourth Class
  • Practice Fees are inclusive of Race Fees
  • $10 - "on the day fee" for cash payments onsite (Entries confirmed via PayPal and Season Pass Holders Exempt)

Season Opener Recap

A Barnburner of a start to the Winter Barnburner Drone Racing Series presented by ReadyMadeRC!



The debut of the series took FPV Racing Events back to REACH Huron where it all started 11 months ago, and what a difference a year has made. Utilizing the new FPV Racing Events AirGates, a big and sweepy course was built featuring 5 gates, two comprising a tunnel, and the layout went as:

  • ReadyMadeRC Start/Finish Line


  • ImmersionRC Over


  • New Generations Hobbies "Keep it Honest" Gate in the Sweeper


  • SUPERCROSS! Section
  • International Horseshoe (inside a Horse Arena!)
  • Scorpion Power Systems Tunnel







This event also marked the debut of the LandsharkDP Ground Station (or "Super Base Station") in Canada, though enhanced with TrueRC X2 Air antennae. These industry leading receivers are provided by: Immersion RC, DPCAV, ReadyMadeRC and TrueRC, and proved themselves and then some at the Season Opener of the Winter Barnburner Drone Racing Series presented by ReadyMadeRC. The venue has steel trusses, with each end-wall covered in steel; normally providing RF issues as seen 11 months previously with racers flying solely with goggles in the middle of the venue. The LandsharkDPX2 had the flightline at the far end of the venue, provided solid VRX coverage, and allowed for heats of EIGHT (8) flying INDOORS (a very uncommon thing).







To kick-off the series with excitement, Day #1 Team Blacksheep gave away a full TBS Gemini to the winner of the "Who Has More Fun Than Us" Class Race, and Scorpion Power Systems provided 6 pilots with Full Sets of SPS Motors for their crafts, plus lots of give-aways to best crash, etc.



Saturday Night included a Freestyle competition and Karaoke.



Sunday brought the first points races of 2016, and the day was filled with exciting battles and intense racing.

Million Dollar Drone Race in Dubai Pre-Qualifier THIS WEEKEND here in Canada!



We have your ticket to the Million Dollar Drone Race in Dubai, come claim it this weekend in Simcoe, Ontario!





The World Drone Prix has announced the qualification process to select the 32 Teams to run at their share of a 1-Million-Dollar Prize, and it's designed to open up eligibility to the World: Every Pilot/Team is to submit a Video of them flying a World Drone Prix approved course, and they will be judged on the criteria. Every member of the 32 selected teams will receive airfare, accommodations and VIP at the World Drone Prix this March in Dubai, UAE.





FPV Racing Events wants to give you the best possible "set" to record your video, so we are building the World Drone Prix Track #2, and dedicating Saturday, February 6th as a day to pre-qualify to the Million Dollar World Drone Prix.





Of course we will be putting our twist on it: we will actually recreate the actual race; which means your "bonus footage" component should be off the chain.





You do not need an entire team for the video pre-qualifier, however, we will be creating impromptu teams for the World Drone Prix Race Re-creation (assigned co-pilots for qualifying, selected for the Championship)

Our beginners is a great class, it takes a round or two for one or two to do a full lap, and at the last race I had to measure one's progress and best effort with a measuring tape.
Once you're out of hovering, come join!
