Why did this happen?

I was printing a "double twist" hollow vase. It went smoothly until it got to about 2and 1/2 inches high. Then apparently the Z axix did not move up accordingly. Nozzle hit the print and so ended the printing.

Can someone shed light on this?
I have had prints as high as 8 inches tall. No issue.
Why now?

Check out your z axis with things powered off try to spin the motors that move the lead screw or belt for the zaxis to move and see if it moves correctly, could be the grub screw holding a lead screw to the motor coupling came loose and just needs tightening.

I am printing another model with different filament. It has gone pass the 2 and a 1/2 in height.
It's going as normal. No accident, and I didn't even so much as checking for loose screws.

Anything blocking the z axis from going up like snagged wires or otherwise might cause issues just offering my best guesses based on likely causes.
