Hi Guy's, new to this quadcopter business. I am 65 and have been use to flying RC helicopters but now want to have a go at quadcopters that must have a camera. I am torn between the Phantom fc40 and the Cheerson cx20. I have read a lot about the Phantom flyaways and what caused them to just take off and not come back.
So what do you all think. I am open to any other considerations that I may have overlooked.
I have about 500 quid to spend.
 
Hi mate i think the phantom problem is in the set up , the naza FCB is one of the best , the last fly away was the guy was flying between radio masts , but the phantom did come back , the other was due to no GPS lock the guy knew there was a problem and still carried on , some times people are in a hurry to get in the air and do not check all is set up and GPS has all the signals it need to work , Hobby king are doing a clone of the Phantom ,how good is it ?
I am still buying my wife a phantom FC40 for her birthday
one thing to think about is a lot of self built quads use the DJI Naza system as the FCB the same as the Phantom and how many have given problems due to firmware set up
 
Well update/ Went and ordered a Phantom from china (out of stock ) went onto Maplins yes one left in Sheffield so took a drive over to Sheffield sorry we let that one go ( I had a order no: so why let it go ) but we can let you a Parrot bebop for the same price. I thought about it but the Parrot needs a tablet or phone to use it so I said no thanks got my money back and decided it was an omen that I should not have or need a quadcopter so I am putting me money back into my pension pot .
 
Hi mate why dont we build one that will do the same for less and put whats left back in pension pot , i think the omen is that maplins are twats and the phantom was be over priced from them any way
 
Where are you getting your fc40 from for your good lady ???????? What in your opinion is there anything about that is near as good as the phantom????????
 
Hi i may get it from my mate at align.co.uk well hobby king do a clone , if you dont mind just a frame type you can get a flame wheel for £9 motor esc combo for about £100 max , and the DJI naza m with gps for about £150
