Hi this is my first post and I am a complete newbie to multi rotors,
I am trying to figure out what esc's, motors, props and battery to get for a 450 quad.
What Im thinking is:
Motors: http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbykin..._Motor_short_shaft_version_UK_Warehouse_.html
ESC's: http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbykin...i_rotor_Brushless_ESC_2_4S_UK_Warehouse_.html
Battery: http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8851
Im using the latest KK board from hobby king
Would this be a good setup?
And what props do I need. Going to be lifting a gopro hero 3 so need to account for that weight.
Its going to be a plug and play set up so 0 soldering.
Any advice would be welcome. I have all the other things I need
Thanks in advance.

I have never done all the math for a custom build. But you can look at what others have built and what comes with a stock 450 and make the comparasion. I would go by rpm's per volt for the motor and keep the ESC's at a slightly higher current rating just like you did. I just looked at a site and a guy (who is known to be reputable) will build you a 450 with tiger motors on it (MT2212-13 980Kv) so will 800Kv work on yours? Probably, but like I said I have never built from scratch. I know my 450 has 2212 motors on it but I am not sure of the Kv rating. My 450 will run with 8" or 10" props.

Thanks for the reply John, I think I will probably go with what I first put. I did look at what other people had done and this would be fairly similar. If anyone else could enlighten me more it would be very helpful!

Hi mate Johns right your need a 10x4.7 prop to get the lift you need , the maths works out to the weight of quad with battery and camera , now times it by 2 then divide by 4 this will tell you how much lift you need from each motor , i used ntm motors they are powerful , my boys 450 has 1000kv motors 10x4.7 props and a 2200 mah battery the camera is smaller than the gopro but he get 10mins flight time .
Now the motors your looking at does not give any spec for 11.1 volt so i would go for the high kv like theses
http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbykin...V_235W_short_shaft_version_UK_Warehouse_.html
these will give you 0.632 kg of lift if you can fit a 9x4.7 prop but they will spin a 10x4.7 and be ok with 30amp esc
if you use ecalc.com it will help you change setting and prop sizes and tell you if it will work ,find weight of camera a 450 flame wheel frame is 250 grms so add the 2 up and then put this is a weight with out drive the ecalc will work out the rest for you

Thanks for the reply! I will defiantly check out ecalc.com! I was looking at reviews and videos of people using these: http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbykin..._2213_980Kv_14Pole_Multi_Rotor_Outrunner.html They seem to be able to lift gopro and still have plenty of power. What do you think?

Hi just watch the weight they are more heavy than the ntms are not much, but in this game you need to keep weight down, so you can lift more and fly longer ,i was told that some of the multistar motors have weak shafts and can bend in a little crash , NTM motors are tough , another to look at too is bolt holes for mounting will they fit the frame , i have the talon v2 the NTM 30xx motor will not fit the 28xx will ,but i went to other way low kv big props longer flight times
