What do you call the controls inputs when training someone?

Hi,

I am going to teach a few people how to fly a basic indoor quad (Blade Nano QX) and I'm curious to see what you call the controls and if there is any standard for naming the controls and what they do.

For quadcopters, do you say to student "Yaw Left" or "Rudder Left" or "Rotate Left".... "Elevator up" or just "Forward"..... "Roll left" or "Bank Left" or "Aileron left" ... ??

Do you separate the controls from the effect? E.g. "Rudder Left" (control) -> "Yaws left" (effect). "Elevator up" (control) -> "Goes Forward" (effect)

I looked around the 'Net and couldn't really find anything.

Mode 2
Left stick:
Throttle (do you call it throttle or motor ?)
Yaw

Right Stick:
Pitch
Roll

Thanks

For new people I don't use rudder, ailron, or elevators as it seems more sense to use throttle, yaw, pitch and roll. Show them something like this to allow it to 'click'.

thanks, I suppose if you tell them mid flight to go backwards, you would say "go backwards" and not something like "pitch down" or "decrease pitch" ?

Yes hahaha. Most new people look at it like a car that can go up and down. After a bit you can tell them to turn left, roll right, pitch forward.

Hi mate the right stick is called cyclic , forward, backwards , roll ,left and right , the left stick is throttle and yaw , When teaching keep commands simple if not they will crash before your able to tell them what you want them to do

You say what you feel ok saying as long as they know what you mean , I just told you what they are called so you know if asked , where you need to be careful is yaw left or roll left is different so may be use, turn left as yaw left and keep roll left as roll left , Its up to you when training your the Boss and you just need to tell them what commands your going to use and what they mean , and above all have fun
