Got a question about the wifi in the Syma W1 Pro from Cheerwing-
THE PROBLEM is a constant long delay of sending image from camera to phone. Really long- like 1 minute on the android phone and twice that on the iOS tablet. This makes the cameras mostly unusable and is a deal breaker for me.
Before I pack up the whole thing and send it back, does anyone know why this is happening? Maybe something I did or didn't do?
The app is Syma FLY and I've tried both android and iOS. The quad product info states the device OS minimum requirements are android 4.4 and iOS 8. Im using a Samsung J7 Sky pro - android phone ver 6.0.1 and 5G wifi capable. Also tried the app on an iPad 3 - iOS ver 9.3.6
In the device settings, with wifi on, I've tried both airplane mode and turning off data connection. Both the app and the devices say it's using 5.8 GHz
If this was a known quad problem, seems I'd see where others are asking about this here and elsewhere, but I've searched in vain for "wifi delay Syma W1 pro, and such.
The quad is a fairly good brushless gps flyer even in a strong breeze and camera images are good... when they finally arrive. If I could see what the cameras see when they see it, I think I could live with the proprietary usb batteries that I can't charge with a lipo charger, the poor app, and the 70M height and 200M distance limits.
Hoping that someone here can shed some light on this problem - Thanks.
