USB Charge cords

I know most of us use a better then supplied with charger than a
USB charge cord but I was going over some batteries for my nephew
today and trying to keep it simple for a twelve year old.

I knew that USB charge cords were on the high side for voltage termination
but was surprised to see the voltage go to 4.33 before it stopped charging.
And I believe their built so simple that they really don't stop or taper
off like a quality charger, they just hit that close aprox point and keep it there.

He will probably never have an issue , I'd just like to find one that cuts off
closer to 4.20-4.25.
 
Hi mate you can some times get single cell charger boards to fit the high end lipo charger , the problem is you dont have a balance lead for charger to read cell voltages , any way if you want one i think Hobby king do them and i seen then on Ebay too
 
The Syma X5 usb charge cord " that I checked " stops at 4.10 volts.

I'm sure they all vary some.

My bench chargers are set to shut off at 4.20 volts at the battery.

Hi mate USB chargers are never that good , most come from China sweat shops and they are not worried if your battery charges or catches on fire
 
I don't use one myself . I was just trying to get something easy for my 12 year old nephew to use.

I ordered a couple 110v / 1S chargers that should be a little better.

All these darn toy options are made in China . :)

An $80 lipo charger is usually not user friendly for a total novice.
 
Hi mate I dont know really a 12 year old will pick it up if you show him ,as he is young he will learn faster than you will
 
I don't believe the Syma X1 charge cord is any different than the X5 cord as after a couple
uses the X5 cord went from 4.10 volt to 4.35 volt termination.

In the garbage this one went.

Some had commented that the stock X1 battery had a voltage termination built into the connector
but I don't believe that to be true.

Summary ,,,, Buy a 110v charger , even if it's an inexpensive $10 one.
