Unequal Roll

Hi all. New to quads and flying them but have a little RC experience. Just bought a Storm SRD250 v3

Got a slight issue that I can't resolve with some searching. Hopefully it's not too uncommon and some kind soul will help me out.

Flowen a dozen or so times. When in horizon mode it rolls (right stick) to the left just fine and quick but is very slow and only just manages it when going to the right. Needs a lot of height.

Earlier last week it was rolling in both directions equally.

Since then it's had a few tumbles. I wouldn't say anything too harsh I'm flying over long grass and only bent a couple of props.

I've tried swapping the props and messing with battery placement and checked the transmitter settings. I have a fair amount of left trim on the transmitter.

I've read sometimes the gyro needs to be reset after a crash. Although I thought this was calibrated when plugging in the battery?

It's running cleanflight if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

No it doesn't recalibrate on it's own. Set that trim back to zero, playing with it with a FCB will adversely affect your throttle. Go into Cleanflight and do an gyro & accelerometer calibration with your quad completely level and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the reply.

I plugged it in and recalibrated. Showed approx 0.5 roll after.

It still floats off to the left (with zero trim on the transmitter) whilst indoors with no wind.

I propped a screwdriver under to give it a 6deg roll (to the left) and recalibrated and hovers nearly perfectly. Odd.

Not that unusual, I've had a couple that I've had to prop up a bit before calibration to get to hover properly. It could be that the surface that your quad is sitting on is actually not level to start with, or more likely, the centre of gravity is off a bit.

Odd because when I bought it there was no roll.

The kitchen worktop is nearly perfectly level (tested with a long spirit level).

However just been to test it and wow it's so quick and responsive rolling both sides and pitch too.

Thanks for the help. :)
