Transmitter and Receiver

Hello, brand new to quadcopers and this forum. I plan to build a quadcopter from an Arduino Uno over the summer where the controller for the quadcopter is a MPU 6050 Gyro and Accelerometer attached to a glove along with a throttle and such. What I need to know is what would be the correct Transmitter and Receiver combo I would need to buy to be making my custom controller. I though about the Xbee WiFi modules for the Arduino, but I've read they have non-reliable signal. Thanks!

If you're new to quadcopters, why not set that glove idea aside for later, and just use two hands on a conventional transmitter? Otherwise, whoever makes this "glove" should be able to tell you how it connects and to what transmitter.

Something tells me that if a gyro glove was the "hot ticket" for flying, it'd be more common than it seems to be.
