Telemetry ?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of building a parts list for a quad and have a question relating to telemetry. I'm planning on using the Taranis X9D with the D8R ii plus receiver and wanted to check that this will give me telemetry capability. I also wanted to check what (if any) additional hardware I'll need to transmit the telemetry back from the quad to the X9D.

A last thought, I did consider using the X8R receiver but wasn't sure whether this is telemetry capable. Can anyone confirm this?

Good choice

You will get signal strength out of the box. What all are you wanting to monitor while in the air?

You will need this for monitoring the voltage. (highly recommended)

You will need a smart port GPS sensor to monitor gps. (this will log it to the radio sd card too)

Thanks for the info ringolong. I was considering using this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APM2-6-Ar...903651?hash=item1eaa57dc63:g:pB4AAOSwL7VWowWE for my FC/GPS but I've read that some people have issues with the telemetry signal from the X8R interfering with the GPS. Perhaps the FrSky GPS module you linked will work better as it's from the same manufacturer as the X8R.

All seems a bit of a mine field

better gps than the neo6,, and the firmware is better on the above model, link below is a cheap option for cell voltages, but this uses a divider to calculate the single cell voltage(not as accurate, but leaves battery balancing port free for other plugins).
