TBS Tango not charging

Just received a new-in-box TBS Tango radio and the thing will not charge at all. Even after several hours and different charging methods (USB to PC, 5V 1amp usb charger, 5V 2 amp usb charger) still nothing. The power button lights up red while charging and then after about an hour blinks red and is completely dead. After charging for about 10 minutes if I hit the power button it will turn green, ethernet lights will flash and then completely drained after half a sec. I opened the controller up and one interesting thing I found is that there are no XT30 connecters for either battery inside, just direct wires to each side of the board. TBS states that they are upgradable to new lipos just by disconnecting and reconnecting but mine does not have the xt30s installed. Please help

I'm not familiar with that tx but isn't there a way to take out the battery and charge the old fashioned way? I'm not a fan of usb charging especially in a radio.

the batteries are soldered directly to the board, I could cut them and add xt connectors..

Yeah if the battery went bad while it was sitting in the box that may be your only option.

Sounds defective to me, I'd contact TBS
