Hi All,

struggling a bit and wondered if i could get some advice.....

tarot 650 iron, with tarot zyx-m controller, max 4in1 and emax MT3510-600, 12 x 4.0 props

everything is working but I'm not getting enough lift, I've calibrated although mine sounds different to others i have watched on youtube!

Q's help with calibration, are the motors big enough for the quad and lastly should i be using bigger props.

personally i feel its the calibration because the motors don't feel like they are going round as fast as i would have expected. but thats just my two pence worth.....

sorry bit stuck, any help would be gratefully appreciated.

4s 4000mah, i have just done the long winded calibration process and not really any better, what i have found out is from mid point on the throttle stick to full on theres no difference in motor speed?
just sussed it out Ringalong, i was powering the esc from the 12v out tarot pmu which I'm assuming wasn't given the esc enough power, although when all the power goes to the esc the FC still works but the battery reading on the assistant drops below 6v. I'm probably going to power both from the same battery. would like you thoughts seeing as you have the zyx-m?

cheers Billy

The escs should be powered straight from the battery, and not from the flight controller. You can either use a power distribution board or split the wire the battery connects to into 2 outputs. One for the flight controller, and one for the escs.

The zyx-m is a good flight controller especially at the price point its at. Some folks had issues with going lower than 10% throttle while flying in the past, but I never did. There could have been a firmware update, but I am not sure.

Lets see some pics, and video once you have it fixed :D

thanks Ringalong, yes i only went with the zyx-m because of your recommendation and video, first flight earlier and I have to say, Im really happy so far, super stable and really compliments the 650. thanks for all your help. I will up load video once edited.

Hi mate I fly a 700 size quad and run 15x5 props ,and my motors are only 50 kg more than yours , they are emax 650kv heavy lift motors .jump up to a 15 inch on the 4 cells

Hi mate really nice and stable ,it will lift really well on 15 inch props
I am very impressed with FC I may get one for my next build
