I was flying my quad today, getting used to the camera and trying to control the thing (I'm a newbe at this). And way, at one point I had a less than stellar landing (it was pretty windy). When I tried to take off, I discovered the quad had shut down. Figured the battery was out and I'd somehow missed the flashing LEDs telling me to bring it back (not likely, but it could happen).
So I replaced the battery, turned it on and took it up. Activated the cam, and it dropped again. I could not turn it on until I unplugged the cam. Then I could turn it on again. So I plugged in the cam, took it up a little, activated the cam and it dropped.
I find it unlikely that there could be a short that would completely shut down the quad and not let it turn on again unless the camera was unplugged. That kind of short would probably fry the quad. And, as long as I don't activate the cam, it flies fine -- even with the cam plugged in.
Still probably a short, but this is odd enough that I thought I'd ask what folks thought or if they had an idea where to look.
Thanks.
