I found that on less than perfect landings the props will hit the guards. I have a fix for this. The natural up bending at the mounting point is nice to look at but dysfunctional to a degree. I straightened mine by the following method"
Things needed:
1. toaster oven or similar metal rack
2. hair dryer that gets hot
3. heatproof platform, I used an electric stove burner cover
4. two spring clamps
Method:
Lay the prop guard on the platform surface, convex side, the top, facing UP
Lay the metal grate, rack directly over the prop guard
Clamp the grate down to flatten the prop guard
Go over the guard, through the grate, with the hair dryer, get it nice and hot. Two minutes is fine.
Get a cup of coffee
Let it cool
Remove clamps
Admire your flat prop guard
