Super Bright Light

I wanted to fit a Super Bright LED to my Quadcopter and was advised to fit a splitter for the LED and Buzzer to the Flip 32 board, which I did and it worked. The thing I can't understand is if the Flip 32 Board draws 5v and the LED and Buzzer 3.5v each, making 7v, then why didn't the board fry? I don't understand electricity.

HI mate its not so much the volts its the amps you need to watch , if you have a 3 cell battery thats 11.1 volt , look at the ESC it will tell you what size the BEC is most are 5v@ 3amp s , this is what you need to make sure you dont over load

So that's how it works! I learn something every day. Thanks for that.
Best Regards,
John.

A device can only draw the voltage supplied, if you wire three light bulbs in parallel on 120 they will each get 120v (if you give them too high of voltage they will burn out) and what ever amps they require (if you have 5000 amps they will only use what they need). Let's say that you have three 100w bulbs, if you wire them in parallel and supply 120 volts they will require .8333 amps each so .8333*3 =~25amps so you will need a a bare minimum of 25 amps supply, but you still only need 120 volts. If you wire thy bulbs in series they will draw .83333 altogether but they will need 360 volts to stay the same brightness, as they will only try to draw the voltage they are supplied they will burn dimly.
