Spectrum DX6 Tx and Battery

There is something wrong with my Transmitter. A couple of months ago I bought a Turnigy 4.0 Battery to replace the alkaline battery's. I followed a tutorial on youtube to convert it to my transmitter and all seemed okay. But now, after about 15 flights the transmitter says "low Battery". I have charged the battery but it said it was fully charged. I connected it to the transmitter and it came on for about 10 seconds, then said "Low Battery" I can't understand why. Can anyone help.
John.

Hi John check in the setting that it see it as a lipo , the transmitter batteries are different to normal lipos as they have cut out to stop them dropping under volts and damaging the battery , also check for transmitter firmware upgrade there is a new firmware for the DX9 so may be one for the DX6

Thank, I decided to try again at charging the battery abit lower and it is now charging, almost full. I don't know why it said "full" before, but all is well now. Thank you for your help.
John.
