Slightly off topic....... recycle rejected pilament prints At Home

Do you think there will be a day when we can have at home a machine that can actually recycle rejected 3d prints back to filament form for reuse?
Forget the one(s) I saw on You-tube. They are garbage.

Seems unlikely to me, look at how prusa or others make the filament so precise across the roll in the first place, requires a big machine that controls the tension and heating of the filament and adjusts parameters on the fly. I think if they could make it smaller they probably would to save floor space and get more lines in a tighter spot but seems the kind of thing you'd be better off letting some central business or gov agency handle.
