SK450 - Problems with copter and Hobbyking

Hi,
First post, new to copters. I have been flying planes since early teens (I am now 60) - control line to RC, but have been Idle a few years and much has changed in the hobby.

I purchased the SK450 about 1 month ago.

On initial startup - it would not arm, followed by the KK2 going to blank screen, and then smoking.
KK2 was burned up.

Hobbyking replaced it, but then it would not power - the #1 ESC also got cooked.

Hobbyking replaced it.

I now experience where the copter will run all the motors, but the #3 runs about 1/2 the speed of the others, and coasts to a stop after running briefly.

Holding Copter in my hand - I feel it twist when opening the throttle - it would flip in flight.

I purchased the Turnigy Multistar ESC programming card - Can anyone provide the correct settings for the ESC's on this copter? I would like to get everything set to be all the same to verify if problem is hardware, or operator.

I could also use correct settings for the KK2 for this copter - I think I have it right, but I am a newbe so could very well have something set wrong.

I just want to be able to verify where the problem is located so I can go FLY!

Any help you can provide would be appreciated!
Doug

Hi mate ok set up transmitter to aero all the mixing is done by the KK load motor as a X quad now the kk is powered by motor 1 esc so remove the red wire from the other 3
the next part is done with no props , put transmitter to full throttle linear curve in the transmitter ( make sure it has 100% travel ) now hold down buttons 1 and 4 at the same time plug in the battery for the quad ( get some help most of us dont have 3 hands ) when you get the bleeps put to zero throttle then when it bleeps let the buttons go
Now motor spin front left cw front right ccw ,back left ccw back right cw
If you have the flash tool reflash with steveis1.8s1pro this is super stable and really nice to fly on if you want to do this do it then set up
if you get to this stage and cant finish it give me a shout I will run you through any problem you have
Ps dont over power the KK I think 9v is max
this video may help I know its the kk2.0 but there is not a lot of difference in the KK2.1.5 just chip set and speed it can work at and run higher gains

This really helped a lot - especially scaling the ESC's and setting the minimum throttle. All motors come to life the same and no motors die now. I was actually able to scoot it around in my back yard. Apparently I really suck at controlling this and need a LOT more room to start out. I am going to look into installing Stevis 8.1 in my controller and see if that helps with anything. I printed off the instruction manual and it looks like there are a bunch of settings available in his program that are not available in the KK2 as shipped. Cool - now I can try to fly this thing.....
Thanks Again!

Hi Doug steveis1.8s1pro is really nice to help control turn down stick scaling this is like giving servos less travel so angle of attack will not be as much , the self level on steveis is super stable , once your ready we can get you set up and tuned to fly nice

I was going to do this last night, but found that the ASBASP adaptor that I bought off Amazon that was supposed to have a 6 pin plug actually had a ten pin plug. I guess I need to make up a plug:( I see where people have been making one out of a couple of servo cables so I guess I need to locate some of those. I could not find a signed driver for the UASASP adaptor that windows 7 liked - any suggestions there?
Now I just need to find an appropriate place to fly in So Cal - there is a fence around everything these days.... Really sucks - I could fly everywhere when I was a kid.
Thanks for all the assistance! What I thought was hardware problems looks like just newbe setup issues.... Those vids were really good for me as they actually explained what the settings were for...

HI I think you can still use the 10 pin just dont use last 4 pins , the 10 pin is better as you can get the ESC flash tool for it so you can then flash your own ESCs
