SJRC F11 4K Pro app stuck in beginner mode...

Hi all,

New to flying and the forum here :)

I got an SJRC F11 4K Pro for Christmas - very cool! Actually, quite scary! I know I don't have any more control of it at 10 feet than I do at 30 (other than wind)... but the height freaks me out. As does getting it to far away, but I'm learning and getting better at it.

I've started hitting the geo fence in beginner mode (distance wise, not height). When I try to take it out of beginner mode and adjust the parameters, after I hit "save", I get a "saving" pop up and icon that never goes away. I've tried with the drone on and off, with the control box on and off. I click "yes" on the query about "do you want take it out of beginner mode?". However, the parameters never complete the "saving" and I remain stuck in beginner mode.

I'm running the app on a Pixel 2 XL, Android 11.

Any thoughts/advice?

Sorry no experience with it here (I should get one seems popular around this forum at least :D) anyway welcome to the hobby and forum hope someone here chimes in and can help you out :)
 
I found this was a real issue for me also with the F11 4K Pro I got for Christmas (my 1st Drone). Every time took it out of beginner mode and made adjustments then saved them they never seemed to hold. Finally, I determined you had to take it out of beginner mode and make adj with the controller on and the F11 also on and ready to fly. When you then fly the F11 it should be out of Beginner mode. I found the easiest way to check this was to raise the height then fly the F11 straight up and notice on the "distance Height" on the bottom of the screen how high it went up which should be greater than 100. Of course, you can also look at the beginner mode screen while your flying but most beginners need to concentrate on the done instead of the screen instill they gain confidence. If you look at that same beginner mode screen when the drone is down and off you wil see its back to beginner mode but when you fly it again it will be out of beginner mode. Hope I gave you good info I'm still very much experimenting myself. Its a great drone for the price. Give it a try it seemed to finally work for me.

I had contacted... someone... an email address that's listed on the Google Play app store as the app developer. They wrote back and identified themselves as David-VISON ELECTRONICS. They said to press the return to home and stop buttons on the controller simultaneously for three seconds to disable beginner mode.

So I turned everything on, connected the wifi, pressed the mode button (by accident, instead of the stop button) and rth button for three seconds, and that took it out of beginner mode and I can save it now. I was then able to use the app to switch off beginner mode and make adjustments and save.

Even after turning everything off and back on, it started in beginner mode, but I was able to switch it off and save other parameters through the app with no trouble - didn't have to repeat the button pushing.

So it seems that you can hit the rth button and/or stop or mode buttons and it will disable beginner mode - but the instructions where rth and stop.

Hopefully if anyone else is having the same issue they will find these solutions from Dadspet and this one.
