Rotor drone DR1

found this series of you tube videos called "rotor drone DR1". It's an apocalyptic end of the world type film that drones play a major role in. I have only got through a couple of episodes so far but I like it a lot. Unknown disease wipes out most of mankind but before that drones were a ubiquitous part of everyday life and they are still flying around everywhere and now people hunt them for their power supplies. Supposedly it's a collaboration between the fans and the producers and you can guide the story with your input through their face book page and website. Kind of low budget but still professionally made. Cool thing is that they have actually made up the drones to look cool rather that use stock quadcopters. I like the fact that multirotors are featured and play a major role in the story.

Good find! I will favorite this on Youtube and watch. It looks low budget in a way, but they did a lot with what they had, because the scenes are pretty damn cool.

Yeah it turns out the project is finished so you can view all the episodes. I thought the writing and story line could have been a lot better but I still liked it a lot. Very cool overall despite the gaps in the story and lack of zombies, lol. Very professionally made, loved watching the behind the scenes videos.

Yeah, the dialogue seemed pretty bad, but the visuals kept me interested. I was just checking it out more and that Swedish guy from FliteTest.com (David Windestål) was a part of the filming - or at least he was in the video calling for people to come participate in a 250 quad race in this cool abandoned building and/or to be extras.

PS - I wonder how many times DR1 was accidentally flown into the actors during the filming. It's constantly following them when it's in a scene.

Yep, if you watch the videos explaining the project the producer was involved in Flite Test and a couple of the guys from flite test are in the film. I wonder how they dampened the sound of the quad and still got good audio from the actors.

Yeah - I'm not sure how they did that, but the production quality is pretty damn good. If the story line and acting was a little better, it would seem pretty high budget.
