Radio Upgrade

What radio would anyone recommend for an upgrade over the
stock Syma X5 system ?

Whats the deal with syncing the radios ? I thought 2.4 looked for an
open frequency but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks

Hi mate all radios use different protocol , so same can do 2 different model makes but not every often , I use Spektrun as i had an MPCX heli , so this is what i use to fly all my fleet , i just by the receiver and thats it , lots of guys like the Devo transmitter or freesky , but like i said i use spektrum DX9 as its easy to set up and has more functions you can shake a stick at , at the end of the day its what you like the look of and is comfortable in your hands

Will that radio sync up with the stock Syma X5 reciever ?
Most of my experience is with with Futaba 3PK pistol radios where 200+ models could
in theory work on the 2.4ghz band width.

I thought some one posted about a spectrum or WL toys premium radio that would work. ???

Hi mate the problem is what protocol does it use lots of the china toys used a none standard one , if you have a quad with a stand lone receiver you can change it out to a known brand , you need to forget the toys and just fly them on there own transmitters , and buy a brand name to fly all the new models on
