Hi guys

Been lurking for a little while but need a bit of help from you fine people.

I'm looking to start an f450 based build and was wondering about using the radio gear from my 3d heli. It's a venom night ranger 3d with a 6ch transmitter and receiver. I realise long term this may not be the best solution but in the short term will I be able to get up and running with this?

Is the radio and receiver specific to the heli? Can you get a receiver to use
with the quad your building or will you have to scavenge it out of the heli?

It may be heli specific as the main rotor n tail rotor had separate cables coming out of the reciever then the servos were plugged into the front

I'm not sure if you can use a different reciever I'm struggling to find info on the TX
 
6 channels will work for a quad (needs 4 minimum) My Naza uses 7. The main 4 plus gps/atti/man for one then IOC for another other plus the fail safe switch.
 
Hi mate the transmitter must be able to do an aero setting ( plane) cp helis are 6 channels and use ccpm mix if you cant disable this it will not work on a quad
