Question about Gain

I have a homebuilt Turnigy HAL that I built last year, and it has given me hours of backyard fun. It is getting pretty beat up, and flying is getting a bit dicey lately...

It has the odd characteristic of suddenly surging on one or two of the motors, resulting in a wild oscillation. I can sometimes recover with full throttle, but sometimes it can't be saved and it crashes.

(with the new plastic props instead of carbon fiber, and home-designed landing gear that is much tougher, I can usually flip it upright and just keep flying :)

I am wondering if this is a gain setting, but I don't understand the gain settings on my flight controller. It's a KK2.0 from Hobbyking. Manual is here: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uploads/181270330X7478X47.pdf

any advice is much appreciated.
Tim.

Hi mate gains on the kk2.0 are not bad to do if i remember right p gain will give you a fast wobble and your hear motors rev up and down fast and can make it hard to land as you touch down it takes off again , the i gain will give you a slow wobble , they normally say zero the i gain wind up the p till its wobbles then take it down by 5-10 points , then wind up the i till you get the slow wobble and again drop this by 5-10 points . watch this video its made by Rolf R Bakke he is the man who made the kk board

Hi mate thats great the kk can be a great board, may be later on see if there is new firmware and reflash it , when you power up the kk within the first 2 seconds it will display firmware , new latest is 1.6 and the auto level is loads more stable than the first boards came with, take a look if it not 1.6 and you want to update it i will tell you how its really easy
