Quadcopter with Toradex Microcontroller

Hi There!

We are currently experimenting with the Toradex Module as controller for our quadcopter. The goal of this project is to build a flying quadcopter with the Colibri T2 as control unit. We will use standard components from the RC-branch as well as from the Toradex Sensoric department. To achieve this goal we defined a few milestones listed below. They seem to be in sequence now but during the development process feedback loops are unavoidable. So we will probably have to make changes to the hardware during and towards the end of the project as well. As a starting point we use a carbon frame from Hobbyking [3] and self-designed mounting plates for the Colibri Module and electronics.

We have done our first PID controller testing, you can see in the following video:

We will post more info on the go.

We've improved the GUI in the mean time quit a bit and started wit out first mathematical models. We've also implemented an automatic bandwith measurement in our GUI which can make a bodeplot of our real system. Check out our video below.

Now we are trying to implement a kalman filter in order to get better measurement values and beeing able to get a more stable system.
