Hi

We are doing our academics project on Quadrotor / Quadcopters in India.

Our aim is to safely land the drone in case of a single propeller failure only.

I have also attached copies of full papers.

We are facing trouble and need help in choosing the right control board for our project which lets us control and land the quad safely in the event of a prop failure.

Also, when searching online I got these boards : MultiWii 328P, HKPilot Mega 2.7, 3DR Pixhawk.

Thus which is the best control board to use for our project which is available at a reasonable price as this is not a funded project ?

Hi Guys you need to look at bigger than a quad ,the quad needs 4 motors to fly if one fails it comes down , 6 motors will fly if a motor fails , watch this video this will show you a quad flying with I think it was 2 motors down but it changes how it flies to stay up

After looking at the video I can see even with two propellers down, the quad can still fly, however, with loss of yaw control. It would still be better to land the quad and fix the propellers.

OK, but a picture's worth a thousand words and the video made that quite clear. The original question involved quads not other multi rotor craft. Granted more is better, but that was not the point as far as I see it.

Most people think of quads not other multi rotors till you point out there are better ways , a hex would be far safer with one motor down than a quad will be , that was my point
