Quad Flipping On Takeoff (Newb School Project)

hey guys I'm in high school and for my engineering project I'm making A quad.

I'm using 1000kv motors, the hobbyking tx and rx, a 5400 mah battery, 30a escs and the kk2.1.5. I calibrated the escs and heard some music so I think it's all synced together but I noticed some stuff when trying to take off. Bottom right motor is spinning faster and when I turn one of the knobs on the transmitter it slows down but I don't think they're all the same speed. Then when I takeoff the quad is stronger on one half than the other so it flips over. Any advice the project is due next week :/ .

Props, check that your motors are spinning the correct directions, and that the props have the leading edge going forward. If this is not the case message me and using skype, or google hangouts I can help you troubleshoot it.

Just checked and they're in the order you said. One thing I keep noticing is that two of the motors are spinning faster and that side is the one that's flipping . Maybe I'm not calibrating the escs the right way?

Hi mate if you go into mis menu on the KK there is a min throttle setting this is default set to 10 if you up this till all motors start and stop the same time max is 20 , also make sure the quad is 100% level when you calibrate the sensors as this is what the KK uses to know what level is

Hey i did that and calibrated the acc again I'm gonna try to fly it

If you remove the props and fire it up all motor should spin the same speed then pick up the quad tilt forward the front motors will spin faster and back motors will slow , this should work on all axis the motors will speed up on the side that lower if this is right then put props on and it should fly

Hey I zeroed out roll and aileron in kk settings and now it's taking off!

Hi its the flight control you have throttle and rudder ( yaw) then the cyclic which will give you nose up /down( elev) and roll left and right ( aile)

So after the first takeoff I played with the trimmers on my transmitter and now the quad isn't taking off anymore. I also messed with the pi editor. Could someone tell me what their pi values are for the kk board ?

Might try looking for the values on a quad that size, 250 or 450 values just won't work hahahaha

Measure the distance in millemetres between the centre of your front right prop and your left rear prop. that'll tell you the size of your quad

Each leg is like 10inches so it's like 580mm

The KK has a factory reset this will put it back to the start,
I would do this and set up again but this time go into monitor screen and use sub trim to zero the channels out
If you can get the flash tool re-flash with Steveis1.8s1pro frimware its much more stable to fly on

I don't think I can flash it but I can reset it and try again

Ok reset and do its set up again take your time and do each part carefully before you move on the real important parts are that the channels are zero and as you move the sticks they read the same as the movement your making
Then ake sure the motors spin the right way
Then make sure your 100% level when you calibrate the sensors

My quad is larger so should my pi values be larger ?

Measure the distance between the center of the left front prop to the center of the right rear prop and this will give you the size of the quad you can use to decide the values...Knowing the actual size is the first place to start to determine proper values rather higher or lower.
