Practicing power loops, some proximity tree dodging

Yah stinger swarm guy I linked in your thread is/was a professional commercial pilot. Have seen good fpv pilots from all sorts of backgrounds though so don't think it's impossible to get that good.

Yep it's like playing guitar lol anyone can get as good as Eddie Van Halen if you're willing to put in the time to practice.

You would probably find that a lot are younger video gamers that grew up with a game controller in their hands. When you put the goggles on how different is it from a game?

This probably helps some people with regard to the hand eye coordination, but for me was basically like learning from scratch. I played a ton of Halo growing up so first person shooter style controls were very familiar but when flying I prefer 'pincers' (using pointer finger and thumb) over just thumbs so it's pretty different.

The flight simulators are pretty good and a good way to build up some skills but gravity/drag is always a bit off in the sims compared to reality so most of that knowledge transfers, but still need stick time with the real thing to get smooth/fast with the real thing.
