That did it! It was parallel_PWM indeed. The flight controller was the issue, but that video shows how to connect IO_1 and IO_2.

Now, after I set up the subtrims and end-points, and calibrated ESC's via Betaflight - is there anything else I need to do? PID settings or is that not really needed for a while? Am I good for flight?
