I am wanting to build my own quadcopter. Although I started to learn how to fly using a blade nano QX. I have progress to a La Trax Alias. My question is, the quadcopter that I will be build from different components, will it have the stability of, shall I say like a La Trax Alias. Or will it be cheaper to purchase a pre-built one and install the receiver and transmitter.

Hi mate , if you buy a ready to fly it will most likely come with cheap parts , unless you go for a really great make but it will not be cheap, if you build your own you can control the price of parts BUT you will spend as we all do on better parts than cheap one ( buy cheap buy twice)
Now as for stable most FCB have a stable mode built in you just switch it on and off even the cheap kk2.1.5 has stable mode , top of the range naza can have auto take off, height hold, GPS hold, return home mode etc .
The hardest thing to work out is motor and prop set up? what battery ? what flight time etc , this will help www,ecalc.com
one more thing basic quad needs 4 channels but if you want lots more thing on it like what the naza has then your need more channels so you can turn them on and off

Hi the receiver is the main unit this is what the servos on a heli or plane plug into ,on a multi-rotor the flight control board plugs in to this , the satellite is a second receiver BUT cant work with out main receiver unless you have a fcb or gyro that will act as a receiver IE i have a trex 500 pro the 3GX gyro has a built in spektrum receiver so all i do is use 2 satellite receivers ,less units to fit, less weight ,less wires .
What transmitter do you have ? you need to try and not get loads of different models with there own transmitters , if you can get one good one and just fly using this it will help as your get a better feel of what is going on with the quad
