non-eu mobula 7 flash to eu lbt

Hello everyone.

First time here so please excuse a possible ridiculous question, Ive still got a long way to go.

I want to give FPV a go and have decided that a mobula 7 would not be a bad place to start. Also looking at getting a radiomaster tx16s. On banggood they have 4 versions of the mobula with different receivers. I live in the UK so if I'm correct I should be getting the Frsky EU-LBT Receiver ? But its £88.19 and the non eu version is £69.23. I know its not a big difference but its still a bit of a saving. My question is could I flash the non eu version to become an eu-LBT or would the radiomaster bind to the non-eu receiver without the need to flash it.

Or should I not worry about saving myself £19 and just buy the LBT version and save myself the hassle?

Is there any advantage to having the LBT one or non-eu.

Thanks in advance

I think for regulator compliance that is using the correct frequencies and power output allowed in your region is the reason for the different receivers. I can say for sure for vtx you can configure betaflight with one set of frequency values or another to send over smart audio control link to the vtx but it is still up to vtx firmware if it will support some given frequencies so like you said probably would have to flash the receiver with different firmware which likely requires a special rig or connection to the mcu on the receiver. Many times boards like this will have "pogo pin pads" for a special programming jig to hook up to the pins with spring mounted probes to initially write firmware and run tests on the boards before shipping but not all of them are user upgradable or publish the firmwares for end user flashing.

TLDR suggest getting the one for your region hassle to fix it it's a problem isn't worth the time/money trade off IMO.

I slept on it and I think I agree the trade off isnt worth it. Ill get my region one. Im a novice so keeping it simple to start with seems like the best route

thanks for the response, much appreciated
