I am new to quadcopters, been flying planes and helis for years. I am looking at building a quadcopter to fly fpv with my gopro to take videos. I was first looking at the f450, then the storm drone 6. I was wondering if I coukd build a fpv quad for under 500 us dollars with about 12_15 mins flight time??

You could probably do it for around $500 if you have a screen you can use and you don't need to buy goggles right away. Decent goggles will set you back $300 alone. You can build a 450 that can hold your gopro and FPV equipment for $250 or so if you use a cheap board (KK or something). Then you'll need a decent transmitter, which could cost you $80-250 depending on what you get. I do see some decent used tx's on Ebay sometimes, but I'd be careful because sometimes when gimbals wear out, the tx isn't as smooth as it should be.

You can good FPV stuff from ReadyMadeRC. They have starter packages, or you can get the equipment you need to use your gopro for FPV video, rather than an additonal camera.

Thanks for the reply. I am also looking at the bumblebees 550, and would put a NAza lite, on it. An eBay seller is selling a bumblebees 550 with motor and esc for 200. Would this be a better fpv platform due to it being carbon fiber and lighter and alsowould the carbon effect my radio signal
